• Get an oil change, tire rotation, and a general check up before the snow falls, or as early in the season as possible.
• Switch to winter tires before a big storm hits.
• Pack your trunk with an emergency roadside kit, extra weight (if you drive a light vehicle), shovel, first aid kit, candle, flashlight, blankets, and extra warm clothing.
• Pack extra antifreeze, windshield washer fluid along with your jumper cables, tow rope, and fire extinguisher.

While this list might seem excessive, you will want all of these things when winter really hits. (Or if you live in a place like Buffalo, NY, where triple winter already hit.)
